What to expect
An open-air forum, not an agency
The Sunday gathering is a pop-up café and community forum. It is not a shelter, a food bank, or a case-management program. It is a recurring open space built around dignity, relationships, practical support and mutual aid.
People come to eat, get supplies, sit down, talk with neighbors, ask questions, vent, grieve, organize, or just be somewhere without being treated as a problem to manage.

Weather and closures
Before you head out
Street Forum has held the Republic Square pop-up café every Sunday for seven years, missing only one week at the start of COVID-19 quarantine. Even so, severe weather, extreme heat, holidays, park events and emergencies can change the plan. Instagram is where changes are posted first.
Getting there
Republic Square sits at 422 Guadalupe St in downtown Austin, served by nearby CapMetro bus and rail connections. What is available on site — seating, shade, restrooms, water — depends on the park and the week.
